DLD/Dyslexia Supports
At ASL we use Multisensory learning (MSL) as it's a highly effective approach for supporting individuals with dyslexia and other language based diagnoses. MSL integrates visual, auditory, tactile (touch), and kinesthetic (movement) elements to enhance learning and retention. This method helps dyslexic learners engage multiple senses, making it easier to process and recall information.
Key aspects of multisensory learning for dyslexia include:
- Visual techniques (e.g., idea mapping, color-coded text)
- Auditory techniques (e.g., listening to audiobooks, using rhymes)
- Tactile techniques (e.g., tracing letters in sand or using textured materials)

Current programs we use are 'Learnersaurus'; Math's Australia; Secret Stories and Multisensory Language Education (MSL).
